About us

50 years of Achievement

and Innovation

For over half a century, Exportadora de Café Guaxupé has exemplified excellence and innovation in the coffee industry. Under the leadership of the second and third generations of the Barbosa family, the company has continued its growth trajectory, expanding both domestically and internationally, with a constant focus on sustainability and the well-being of its employees and partners.

Throughout the years, the modernization of processes has been essential in maintaining the company’s competitiveness. A cornerstone of this transformation has been continuous investment in technology and machinery, resulting in more efficient service delivery and enhanced storage capacity. The highlight of this expansion was the construction of Warehouse 10, which increased storage capacity to 1 million bags—a milestone that not only improved operational efficiency but also strengthened partnerships with coffee producers.

Guaxupé’s commitment to sustainability is another defining aspect of its history. The company’s C.A.F.E Practices and Rainforest Alliance certifications reinforce its dedication to sustainable practices, promoting environmental responsibility and community well-being. This commitment is further strengthened by its partnership with the Global Coffee Platform (GCP), aimed at promoting a more sustainable production chain in Brazil.

At the heart of this evolution is the focus on people. A key priority for the company is the growth and well-being of its employees. Through professional development programs and well-being initiatives, Exportadora de Café Guaxupé ensures a healthy work environment where employees feel motivated and prepared to grow alongside the company.

A major innovation introduced by the company is the Producer’s Area, an exclusive online portal that provides producers with vital information on weather conditions, stock exchange trends, and currency rates. Additionally, the “Your Coffee” section allows customers to track their trading operations, offering greater transparency and clarity in transactions.

The leadership of the Barbosa family has also brought recognition to the company and its members. Executive Director Flávia Barbosa was named one of the “100 Most Powerful Women in Agribusiness” by Forbes Brazil, underscoring the importance of female leadership in the sector and the significant role Exportadora de Café Guaxupé plays in the national agricultural scenario.

In sustainability, the company has taken significant steps, including the neutralization of its CO2 emissions—an initiative that not only benefits the environment but also enhances the quality of life for the local community, contributing to a more sustainable future for the next generations. A point of great pride was the creation of Guaxupé Planet Sustainable Coffee, the first sustainability code by a Brazilian company to be recognized by the Global Coffee Platform’s base code in 2022.

The company’s commitment to the future was further solidified with the construction of a photovoltaic plant, which now powers nearly all of Exportadora’s energy needs. By adopting this clean and renewable energy source, Guaxupé has significantly reduced its greenhouse gas emissions, reaffirming its leadership role in sustainability.

The company’s ongoing growth is evidenced by the opening of a branch in São José do Rio Pardo, further strengthening its presence in the state of São Paulo and enhancing service for both producers and customers.

As Exportadora de Café Guaxupé enters its sixth decade, it remains focused on the future, with its roots firmly planted in its core values: family tradition, technological innovation, sustainability, and the people who are an integral part of this journey.

Exportadora Guaxupé acts as a link between Brazilian producers and importers from different countries. It has specialized services and a team prepared to guide its partners with a strong commitment to bring the producer closer to the international market, always respecting the social, environmental and commercial norms.
